Scholarships For Single Moms - Examples of Scholarships That Can Help You Pay For School

The Science of "Mom Brain" | Psychology Today

Going to school as a single mother is more of a balancing act than anything else. As you begin your classes, your mind may not be focused on what you're studying and you may be stressed out about how you are going to pay for next semester college. Do not be alarmed and do not be worried because this is fairly common when anyone is beginning their journey to go back to school. Scholarships for single moms can now be obtained in a variety of ways.

There are three major categories of scholarships for single moms you can take advantage of. The first way is through a drawing where thousands of single moms enter in their name and e-mail addresses each month in hopes to get a $10,000 scholarship giveaway to help them go to school. There are quite a few companies that do this and millions of dollars are given to new college students each month this way.

The second way to get scholarships for single moms is through an essay contest where you enter your essay into a contest to be graded and then you can get awarded money if you win. You can get up to $10,000 a year simply entering in your essays to be graded.

The third way to get scholarships for moms is through your local community or four year college or even a technical school. There are so many scholarships it would be impossible to name them in this article. But if you check with your school and ask them for a listing of all government money that is given to their school that hasn't been used, then you will more than likely find a couple thousand dollars that can be used to pay for your education as long as you can display that you have a financial need for this specific single mother grant or other financial aid.

There are also scholarships available at each department at your University depending on what your major is. This is a good way to find out exactly what type of funding you can get by going around to all departments that you're interested in and ask them how much free money you can get.
